January Astrophotography

I got a few nights out under the clear night skies this month. Still working the Celestron AVX mount and 10” Orion f/3.9 Astrograph with my Nikon D750. I have a Ultra-high Contrast / Light pollution filter that I started using on the camera and it adds a really nice touch to the colors of the galaxy and nebula.

Some noteable targets are Thor’s Helmet and the Rosette Nebula (above). Galaxies including Sculptor, M33 Triangulum, and NGC 2403 up near Muscida the bear’s nose. Also some nice planetaries. See below.
