May 21, 2025 Emerald Green Airglow with Orange Clouds.

Bright glow to the north tonight. Solar winds were in the 600 kilometers per second range so not sure if that contributed to the intensity of the glow.

I woke up around 1 am Mountain time to partly cloudy skies. I could tell there was something going on to the north, but the clouds and light pollution made it hard to figure out what glow was what. I did some observing of deep sky objects through the telescope, but the glow to the north kept catching my eye. Finally I set up a time lapse to see what was going on, and there was the bright green glow. It was easily visible to the unaided eye behind the clouds. It was challenging to try to tease out the difference in color and texture of the glow with just my eyes.
